Artem Dmytruk, MP of Ukraine, member of the profile committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on law enforcement, sent deputy appeals to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko regarding the seizure of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.

The MP announced this in his telegram channel.

According to him, the seizure of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra has a systemic character and is carried out by a group of people who are not parishioners of the UOC at all.

“This means that these offenses are not random events, but an integral part of a wider phenomenon that occurs in Ukraine. Such illegal actions have very serious negative consequences both for the community and for the state as a whole,” said the MP.

“That is why I draw your attention to the fact that these illegal actions have signs of a criminal offense provided for in Part 2.1-3 of Article 164 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine ‘Deliberate actions aimed at inciting national, racial or religious enmity and hatred’," the People's Deputy added.

He also called on the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to take measures and “eliminate violations of the current legislation, give a proper assessment and appropriate legal qualification to the illegal actions of all persons involved in the specified criminal offense and resolve the issue of bringing higher officials to the responsibility established by the legislation.”

As previously reported by the UOJ, the MP appealed to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs about the seizure of the temples of the UOC in Khmelnytsky.
