Details of the first Islamic prayer in Hagia Sofia becomes known

On July 23, 2020, the Governor of Istanbul Ali Yerlikaya gave details of the first Islamic prayer in Hagia Sophia, reports Ethnos.gr.

The prefect of Istanbul, while inspecting the conversion of Hagia Sophia into a mosque today, gave details about the first prayer tomorrow, while asking the guests to bring with them 4 things: "A mask, a prayer mat, patience and understanding".

He said that the entrance for the invited believers in Hagia Sophia will start at 10.00 in the morning. It will be done from 11 different checkpoints. Besides, In the courtyard, prayer areas have been prepared separately for men and women.

On July 23, from 20.00 tonight the traffic around Hagia Sophia will be stopped, and 101 ambulances will be on foot along with an ambulance helicopter.

The prefect said that the "Hagia Sophia" mosque will remain open until Saturday morning for prayer.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan invited the heads of state to attend the first Islamic prayer in Hagia Sophia.
