Ban the UOC as soon as possible – urges the leadership of the OCU in its appeal posted on pomisna.info.

The document emphasizes that the elimination of the UOC is one of the ways to successfully resist Russian hybrid aggression.

At the same time, the OCU is convinced that the UOC is subordinate to the center in Russia and talks about a ban on subordination, rather than religious activity.

“This approach is generally shared by the religious community of Ukraine, which was evidenced during the meeting of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations with Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk on April 11, 2023,” Dumenko’s supporters say.

Known for hundreds of raider seizures throughout Ukraine, the OCU members are proud of “the high level of religious freedom in Ukraine, religious pluralism, the absence of a ‘state church’, the equality of all religious organizations before the law, developed interfaith dialogue and cooperation between various religious associations.”

“We are aware of how complex the issues of protecting the spiritual space of Ukraine from hostile influences are, requiring careful study and balanced steps. Therefore, we support the efforts of the state in this direction, and for our part we call on all our faithful and our supporters to be attentive, aware of responsibility in order to prevent provocations. We are convinced that by uniting the efforts of the Church, society, the state, everyone who realizes the importance of the current historical moment of the liberation of Ukraine from the Russian imperial yoke thrown upon it many centuries ago, we will achieve success with God's help,” the OCU says.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that the authorities and the AUCCRO agreed to destroy the UOC.
