On April 2, 2023, in his Sunday sermon at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry addressed the faithful, who these days come to the monastery to prayerfully support the brethren and students of theological schools, who are illegally being evicted from the great Orthodox shrine of the world, reports news.church.ua.

"Today we are undergoing a trial – danger is looming over the Lavra – they want the monks to leave the Lavra, to leave the holy abode, their home. This is a great test, requiring us to repent. If we repent, if we pray to God, God will change the thoughts of those people who want to expel us from this place. We must be patient, pray and forgive," the Primate of the UOC said.

"May the Lord help us, brothers and sisters, that our prayerful deeds, our prayerful standing will bear good and pleasant fruit, that we will meet the great feast of the Bright and Christ's Resurrection in joy. A feast which is a feast of life, a feast of joy, a feast of love, a feast of great hope for the man in Christ Jesus our Lord, to whom we give glory and worship," His Beatitude wished.

As reported, thousands of worshippers gathered for a Liturgy at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
