“Hierarch” of OCU suggests imposing tough sanctions on “holy fool Filaret”

On June 25, 2020, the “hierarch” of the OCU Adrian Kulik called for “tough sanctions” to be applied against the “holy fool” Filaret Denisenko. Kulik wrote about this on his Facebook page.

Commenting on the decisions of the “Bishops' Council” of the UOC-KP of June 21, 2020, Kulik wrote that he considers the head of the UOC-KP to be a “fallen hierarch”, as well as a “violent holy fool”.

“I might convene all my parishioners, ordain all men as priests and bishops, appoint women for key posts in financial and economic activities and announce the revival of the UAOC. After all, am I worse than Filaret?” Kulik asks.

According to him, even when Denisenko "was in the Russian Orthodox Church, I was soon endeavoring to revive the UAOC" (recall that Kulik was born in 1972, while Denisenko fell into schism in 1992 – Ed.).

Kulik noted that his “episcopal dignity is no less than Filaret’s” and does not restrict him in doing similar actions.

In this regard, the “hierarch” of the OCU believes that “it is time to realize that Filaret sets a bad example for others,” and that in relation to Filaret “it is time to apply more substantial sanctions to stop tyranny and foolishness despite his past merits.”

“Now the UOC / OCU is afraid to develop, because Filaret is alive and all those who disagree can join him, so in five to ten years there will be another hundred reasons to do nothing to correct Filaret’s shortcomings in the Church. Therefore, maybe it’s time to start moving forward so that the current period would not become similar to Brezhnev’s time?” Kulik believes.

At the same time, he noted that he supports “raising the issue of patriarchal structure of the Ukrainian Church”, on which, in his words, “Filaret is speculating”.

However, according to Kulik, Epiphany Dumenko should be the “patriarch”, since he is “a worthy primate, Christian, and a person of God, filled with Love. And I want to see him as our Patriarch. Sincerely".

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that the "Bishops' Council" of the UOC-KP condemned the activities of Epiphany Dumenko.
