Verkhovna Rada MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak, referring to the words of the head of the SBU Vasyl Maliuk, said that the newly appointed head of the law enforcement agency reported on investigations related to representatives of the UOC, reports the “Ukrainian News” website.

"The SBU identifies enemy agents in cassocks. 52 criminal proceedings and 19 suspicions, 6 court verdicts. There are also those we have exchanged: one enemy agent in cassock has been exchanged for 28 of our soldiers," Zhelezniak quoted the head of the SBU as saying in the Verkhovna Rada.

In December 2022, the media reported about convicted UOC priest Andriy Pavlenko from Lysychansk. He was handed over to the Russian Federation in exchange for Ukrainian servicemen. The exchange took place on December 14, no other information was received from the security forces about the exchange of UOC representatives. Now Maliuk mentioned a certain priest, without naming him, in his report to the Verkhovna Rada.

As reported, the Zhytomyr Eparchy denied the SBU information on the detention of the "monk" of the Pokrovsky Monastery.
