On May 1, 2020, the personal data of Archimandrite Nikita, the Secretary of the Chernivtsi-Bukovina Diocese of the UOC were entered on the Mirotvorets (Peacemaker) website, positioning itself as an "Internet representation of the Center for the Study of Crimes Against the Foundations of National Security of Ukraine, Peace, and Citizen Security."
The notorious site, whose activities the UN called to cease in October 2019, qualified the clergyman as a “provocateur, manipulating socially significant information, participating in destabilizing public life in Ukraine, and opposing the independence of Ukrainian Orthodoxy from the Russian Orthodox Church controlled by Russia.”
“’Mirotvorest’ ranked the secretary of the Chernivtsi-Bukovina Eparchy among terrorists, mercenaries and war criminals! The reason is the exposure of the lies of the ‘Molodoy Bukobinets’ newspaper. <...> It is symbolic that Orthodox priests, hierarchs, and believers fall into the list of ‘peacekeepers’ really for their PEACEKEEPING activity, for calls to put an end to the war, to put an end to religious enmity. It is an honor to be on this list,” the press service of the Chernivtsi-Bukovina Eparchy noted, congratulating Archimandrite Nikita on the acquired status of “peacemaker”.
As reported by the UOJ, the day before, the famous Ukrainian boxers Olexandr Usyk and Vasyl Lomachenko were added to the Peacemaker database. Earlier, the Primate of the UOC Metropolitan Onuphry, the UOC Chancellor Metropolitan Anthony (Pakanich) of Boryspil and Brovary, Archpriest Nikolai Danilevich and other clergymen of the UOC were added to the website’s list.
