Activists of the OCU in the village of Yasinia/Lopushanka, Rakhov District, Transcarpathian Region, started a legal action to evict the family of the priest of the local community of the UOC of St. Elias church. Moreover, Sergey Slisarenko, the head of the UOC parish, has no other housing except for the church house, and his whole family, including three minor children, is legally registered in this building. This was reported by the UOJ correspondent.

As explained in the Yasinia deanery of the Khust Diocese of the UOC, Ivan Dyachuk, the head of the OCU community, received a dwelling from the state in 2010 as a victim due to the natural disaster in Transcarpathia, privatized it but continues to live in a house that was supposedly subject to demolition. Obviously, the purpose of the eviction of Father Sergey is another attempt to eliminate the survived community of the UOC in Lopushanka.

The court session is scheduled for June 4, 2020.

Recall, the St. Elias church of the UOC in the village of Yasinya of the Rakhov District became one of the objects of raiding from the OCU in the Yasinia Deanery in 2019. The legal entity – parish of the UOC – was reregistered in favor of the new church structure; supporters of the OCU took the church to their disposal. According to the information voiced in the UOC community, there are no two-thirds established by law for the transition of the community in Lopushanka: currently, the UOC is backed by more than 50% of the village residents.

The re-registration of the UOC community in favor of the OCU is being considered in court. According to the registry of court decisions, in October 2019 the court returned the claim to the plaintiff to clarify the requirements.
