Everyone who comes to the UOC Church of the Holy Resurrection of Christ will be able to light a lamp from the Holy Fire brought from the Holy Land, "we will not alienate anyone, we will not offend anyone", said the UOC Chancellor, Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary, on his Facebook page.

“With God's help, the delegation of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church will deliver the Holy Fire to Ukraine,” wrote the hierarch. “We hope that this will be a consolation for many believing Ukrainians. Especially now, in quarantine, when many will have to celebrate Easter at home.”

Given this fact and the fact that some media have said that Ukraine will not see the Holy Fire this year, Metropolitan Anthony emphasized: “We urge everyone who would like to come in touch with this sign of the Holy Resurrection of Christ to come to the Holy Resurrection Church (in compliance with all sanitary standards), which is located near the entrance to the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra."

“Everyone who comes to this temple will be able to light a lamp from the Fire brought from the Holy Land. We will not alienate anyone, we will not offend anyone. It will be Christian since it is very important, during the overall gloom, to help everyone feel the joy of the greatest holiday – the Resurrection of Christ,” added the UOC Chancellor.

He specified that in order to avoid mass crowding, the Holy Fire in the Church of the Resurrection of Christ will be available throughout the entire Bright Week by prior appointment at 255-12-04. On these days there will be an opportunity to receive the Holy Fire in the main district churches of the capital and the region, also by appointment with the rectors and in compliance with all quarantine requirements.

As reported, the Holy Fire is delivered to Kyiv approximately at 19:00-20:00 on April 18.
