Epifaniy Dumenko, the head of the OCU, pondering how to ban the canonical Church in Ukraine, said that none of the bills that are currently registered in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will pass the vote, reports “The Left Bank” edition.

"There are several bills currently under consideration in the Verkhovna Rada. None of them will pass the vote. Therefore, as we know, the National Security and Defence Council has instructed the Cabinet of Ministers, and now some deputies are working to bring all these bills into one and take the appropriate decision," he said.

He also noted that the Church cannot be banned because it is not one legal entity but many.

"Of course, the Church is not a legal entity, as we know, and it is not possible to ban activities at one time – each religious community has its own separate legal status. Everything follows from the previous question about the implementation of the law on renaming," Dumenko said.

As reported, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy approved the bill authored by MP Mykola Kniazhytsky No. 8221 "On ensuring national security in the field of freedom of conscience and activities of religious organizations”. The committee believes that the bill authored by MP Mykola Kniazhytsky is the best.
