In Ivano-Frankivsk Cathedral of UOC, thugs stage fight at meeting of bishop

In the Ivano-Frankivsk Cathedral of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, at a meeting of the new bishop of Ivano-Frankivsk and Kolomyia Nikita (Storozhuk), agents provocateurs made a fight and tried to disrupt the archdiocesan service, reports the press service of the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Eparchy of the UOC.

According to the press service, the provocateurs were gathered personally on social media by Nazar Kishak, the advisor to the Ivano-Frankivsk mayor.

According to information from the eparchy’s press service, UOC worshippers had their faces smashed and their noses broken.

After the attackers were kicked out of the church, the thugs for hire blocked the worshippers in the cathedral for three hours, shouting: "Down with the Moscow priest", and "Moscow KGB agents to Moscow".

The protesters also said that the UOC should cease to exist in Ivano-Frankivsk.

According to police officers present on the scene, there were about 70 protesters.

Earlier, the Ivano-Frankivsk Eparchy’s press service reported a provocation against Archimandrite Nikita.
