On December 6, 2022, the OCU "metropolitan", Oleksandr Drabinko, said that the Church can celebrate Christmas according to both Julian and Gregorian calendars. He said this on the air of the TV marathon "YEDYNI NOVYNY".
"I think that if we celebrate it twice, there will be no sin in it," the "hierarch" stated.
According to him, judging by the discussions on the Internet, most believers adhere to the old style, but those who have been in Europe, of course, were imbued with European traditions. In the OCU parishes, the Christmas date is chosen by the community by majority vote.
