In the sewing workshop of the Holy Protection Monastery of the UOC in the city of Kyiv, which previously has made vestments, up to 200 medical masks are sewn daily. This was said in the "Morning with Inter" programme.

All sanitary norms and requirements are observed in the manufacture of respiratory masks.

“Each mask is steamed with a steam iron to destroy any possible bacteria that might have got into the manufacturing process. They must also be destroyed,” said sister Catherine.

A special multi-meter fabric is used for sewing masks in the monastery. The work of making medical masks is painstaking, but the nuns do it with joy.

“This is not a difficult matter. We love to sew; we love to do good. And therefore, it’s not difficult for us because we know that we can help someone,” sister Elikonida, a nun of the Holy Protection Monastery, told “Inter” reporters.

The medical masks made at the monastery are distributed free of charge to all who need them.

As reported earlier, students of the Odessa Theological Seminary and monks of the Mukachevo Eparchy also sew respiratory masks.
