On March 1, 2020, on Forgiveness Sunday, the Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Orthodox churches of the Russian tradition in Western Europe, Metropolitan John (Renneteau) of Dubna, in the Cathedral of St. Alexander Nevsky in Paris, re-ordained Hieromonk Hierotheus, who was formerly a cleric of the OCU. This was reported on the Facebook page of the Western European Archdiocese.

“His Eminence, Metropolitan John of Dubna, led the Divine Liturgy, during which he re-ordained Hieromonk Hierofei, who passed from the non-canonical Kharkov Diocese of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine to the canonical Church,” the message says.

As explained, Hieromonk Hierofei became the second cleric of the OCU to be re-ordained by Metropolitan John.

As reported by the UOJ, the Western European Archdiocese previously published official statistics for 2019: it includes 67 monasteries, parishes and communities.
