Among those who support Petro Poroshenko’s European Solidarity party, half are followers of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU), said Andrei Yurash, head of the Department of the Ministry of Culture for Religions and Nationalities, on his Facebook page.
There he shared the results of another sociological study from the Ukrainian Centre for Economic and Political Studies named after Alexander Razumkov.
“The results of the study on another dimension are incredibly interesting: regarding the confessional identification of the electoral base of the main political parties. For example, it is quite natural that among those who are ready to vote for “European solidarity”, the faithful of the OCU dominate – 52.1%,” said Yurash.
Earlier, the spokesman for the OCU Eustratiy Zoria said that without Poroshenko the church structure of Epiphany Dumenko would not exist.
