U.S. Embassy congratulates OCU on one-year anniversary of Tomos

On January 6, 2020, the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine congratulated the OCU on the anniversary of the receipt of the Tomos.

“We congratulate the Orthodox Church of Ukraine on the one-year anniversary of the Tomos of Autocephaly being granted by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. We reiterate our support for Ukrainians’ ability to worship as they choose, free from external interference,” the message reads in the English and Ukrainian languages on the embassy’s Twitter page.

Earlier, the head of the OCU Epiphany Dumenko said that the United States did not put pressure on the Local Churches in the recognition of the OCU.
