Chairman of ROC DECR meets with heads of Greek and Antiochian Archdioceses

On Wednesday, October 23, 2019, the Primate of the Antiochian Orthodox Archdiocese of North America, Archbishop Joseph of New York and Metropolitan of all North America, Archbishop Elpidophoros of America (Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America-Ecumenical Patriarchate) and Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Russian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Hilarion (Alfeyev) of Volokolamsk, met at the headquarters of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese in Englewood. This was reported on the official website of the Antiochian Archdiocese.

The meeting was held at the invitation of Metropolitan Joseph.

After the dinner proposed by the metropolitan, the hierarchs of the Patriarchates of Constantinople, Antioch and Moscow held a private conversation, during which they shared their views on the current inter-Orthodox situation.

At the end of the meeting, the invited hierarchs exchanged memorable gifts.

Recall, on Tuesday, October 22, the Department of State announced a meeting between the head of the DECR of the Russian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Hilarion, and Mike Pompeo.
