The head of the Legal Department of the UOC Archpriest Alexander (Bachov) called on the flock to vote responsibly and be vigilant in the elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

“Vote Responsibly # 5309 The elections soon, be vigilant! The process of changing clothes and decoration continues!” He wrote on Facebook.

The head of the Legal Department of the UOC reminded the names of the authors of the law on renaming religious organizations – MPs of Ukraine Igor Brichenko, Ivan Krulko, Yaroslav Markevich, Sergey Vysotsky and Igor Lapin.

The next Facebook post of Archpriest Alexander is about the names of those who lobbied the law on the subordination of religious organizations and their registration.

“It would be helpful to recall the names of those deputies who initiated and voted for the anti-constitutional bill 4128-d on the seizure of churches and the creation of black registrars (Law 2673-VIII), which today have illegally re-registered about 250 religious communities of the UOC,” the cleric noted.

The head of the UOC Legal Department named these deputies: Nikolai Kniazhitsky, Irina Podoliak, and Viktor Yelensky.

Earlier, the Primate of the UOC, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kiev and All Ukraine called on the UOC faithful to help President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky implement his good intentions and remember the formula of Christian behavior and “render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's; and to God the things that are God's” before the elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. “A Christian must properly keep this balance,” the Primate of the UOC said. If you allow in this case any imbalance, misfortune will happen, he recalled.
