UOC hierarchs have a telephone conversation with Archimandrite Ephraim

Archimandrite Ephraim with the UOC Priesthood

On February 2, a telephone conversation took place between the hierarchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and Archimandrite Ephraim, the abbot of the Vatopedi monastery of Holy Mount Athos. This is reported by the Information and Education Department of the UOC.

Wishes of a speedy recovery were sent to the elder. The Archimandrite asked to say to His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufriy and all the bishops of his Church about his love for them.

On the same day, Archimandrite Ephraim left Ukraine to continue his treatment in one of the foreign clinics.

Recall the abbot of the Vatopedi monastery arrived in Kiev as part of the delegation of the Constantinople Patriarchate. On February 1, he was hospitalized due to the heart problems and was treated in a private clinic in Koncha Zaspa. According to the UOJ, representatives of the UOC tried to visit the Athonite elder but were not allowed to see the archimandrite by the SBU officers. As a result, the UOC hierarchy managed to contact Archimandrite Ephraim by phone.

On February 2, Epiphany arrived at the clinic where he took several photographs with the archimandrite.
