UOC cleric organizes a flash mob against President’s words about Church

Protopriest Gennady Shkil

Protopriest Gennady Shkil, a cleric of the Kherson eparchy, launched a flash mob in response to the false information about the UOC spread by Petro Poroshenko. The priest shared on his Facebook page a video in which he called to take part in his action.

“In recent months, the President of Ukraine has repeatedly publicly voiced the false information that the clergy and parishioners in the churches of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church pray for RF President Putin and the Russian army,” Father Gennady said.

With his flash mob, the priest intends to refute these accusations and prove that in the churches of the UOC, a prayer for peace in Ukraine is heard at all Divine services.

“Upload on social media a live broadcast or a video of a special litany at the Liturgy, followed by a prayer for peace in Ukraine!” urged the priest.

Earlier, Petro Poroshenko has said that in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church services begin with a prayer for Kirill, Putin, and the Russian army.
