Met. Anthony: SLC is being created so that God becomes “convenient”

Metropolitan Anthony (Pakanich), Chancellor of the UOC

The advocates for the “new Church” are not going to let God into their lives, commented Metropolitan Anthony (Pakanich), the UOC Chancellor, on recent statements by the authorities against the canonical Church.

“Judging by their statements, they are looking for a convenient God who fulfills their wishes, is powerful by earthly standards,” the “Pravlife” portal reports the words of the hierarch of the UOC.

According to Metropolitan Anthony, today Christ’s robe is divided again, and those who strive for earthly well-being do not need the Living God.

Such a God must be sought by the heart, and not by the cool head, Vladyka emphasized. He added that very often it is earthly difficulties that return to the Lord. Indeed, thanks to the disorder, a man begins to look at the world, the Church and himself with different eyes.

Metropolitan Anthony Believers called believers for love and respect. “Our constant rate is the rate of love,” stressed the hierarch of the UOC.

He added that "trials teach us to believe not by inertia but lead to conscious faith".

Earlier, Metropolitan Anthony (Pakanich) said that only the experience of living in God can help tell the truth from false teaching.
