Makariy Maletich refuses to be at the head of SLC

The head of the UAOC has expressed his intention to support a candidacy, who will be offered by Patriarch of Constantinople Bartholomew. He told about it in the live program “The first about things first” on Zik TV channel.
“I do not nominate my candidacy. I will support the one to be offered by the Ecumenical Patriarch,” explained Makariy Maletich.
As the UOJ reported, earlier the leader of the UAOC, Makariy Maletich, declared he had refused to comment on the conjectures of the UOC KP leader Filaret Denisenko about the structure of the Local Church in Ukraine. He explained that he considered an idea of the unification council without the agreed names, statutes and model of the United Local Church to be “insane” and added that before giving his own proposals he should listen to the proposals of Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople .
