Abbot of Pochaev Lavra: Interference in Church affairs will lead to schism

Митрополит Почаевский Владимир

The interference of non-church people in the affairs of the Church will lead to another schism in Ukraine, said the abbot of the Pochaev Lavra Metropolitan Vladimir of Pochaev to 112.ua journalists.

According to Metropolitan Vladimir, the decisions of the Synod of the Constantinople Church are purely political and contrary to the canons of Christianity.

“There are forces that still try to separate us, try to make us antagonize, so that we do not live in peace and harmony, and therefore be careful not to be left with eternal salvation,” said Metropolitan Vladimir.

As the UOJ reported, the abbot of the Pochaev Lavra reported threats against the monastery, asked for prayer support, and called for the protection of the shrine, if necessary.
On October 14, 2018, the Holy Dormition Pochaev Lavra held a celebration on the occasion of the feast of the Protection of Our Most Holy Theotokos. Thousands of believers gathered in the monastery for the Divine service.
