Poroshenko counts not on SLC but on inciting conflict, – expert

The Presidential Administration counts not on the local Church, but on inciting conflict, says Kirill Molchanov

Political expert Kirill Molchanov said that in the case of civil confrontation, it is possible to abolish elections, declare martial law and continue to pit out society against one another on religious grounds, reports "1Kozaktv".

"I’ m very sceptical about raising the rating of Pyotr Alekseevich. I've been following his actions lately: probably neither Paul Manafort nor Our Lord could raise his rating. Because the Presidential Administration is focused on controversial points that do not reflect any request of the society," Kirill Molchanov said.

According to him, the political technologists in the Presidential Administration proceed from the principle: "if you cannot give "bread" before the elections as it was earlier  - provide social benefits, raise pensions and salaries, give out a thousand for savings – then you should appeal to a symbolic agenda, in this case - the sacred one".

"Since April, the APU has been obsessed with the idea of a local Church. The President has already apologized for not finishing the ATO within a few weeks. This may end up with the President having to apologize the second time for failing to receive the Tomos at the announced time frame," explained Molchanov.

In his opinion, even if Patriarch Bartholomew "intends to make "church chaos", the expert does not think that the Patriarch of Constantinople "wanted to play along with Pyotr Alekseevich and go at the pace of his election campaign": "And why should the Americans make such a gift to the elections when Kurt Volker and others send negative signals ... Here we need to figure out who is whose agent."

As reported by the UOJ, earlier the UOC Chancellor, Metropolitan Anthony of Borispol and Brovary, said that provocations against the Kiev-Pechersk and Pochaev Lavras are underway, and the believers of the UOC are determined to defend their shrines.
