Today we are dragged into the format of a political party, – UOC Primate
His Beatitude Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine Onufry
The Church is dragged into the format of a political party, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kiev and All Ukraine said in the programme "Morning with Inter" on September 14.
"Today we are dragged out into the format of a political party so that we will be a political party led by some politicians but not Christ," said the Primate of the UOC.
Metropolitan Onufry stressed that if he wanted to be a politician, he would immediately become one.
"I had such chances in my youth, but I threw them back. Wearing spiritual clothes, I must take care of the spiritual. And those people who put on their cassocks and engage in active politics, make geopolitical plans, are simply dishonest ... <...> Before God these people will have to answer very hard," said the Primate of the UOC.
