In Ivano-Frankovsk Uniates start a new Maidan

Chaplain of the UGCC Nikolai Medinsky

In Ivano-Frankovsk, the Uniates, who had previously seized the church of the UOC in Kolomyia, led a protest against the local authorities, reports the NTC TV channel.

On September 10, Deliatin residents came to the head of the Ivano-Frankovsk Regional State Administration Oleg Goncharuk with a demand to allocate 20,000,000 UAH for the continuation of the repair of the Yablunev-Deliatyn road. Attempts by the governor to report financially on this issue were unsuccessful – activists made noise and shouted: "Shame!".

The spokesperson of the protesters was the chaplain of the UGCC Nikolai Medinsky, famous for the seizure of the UOC church in Kolomyia. He demanded that the governor should write a statement of resignation if the requirements are not met. Medinsky also decided to seek the support of the "Right Sector", "S14" and other radicals, whom the chaplain urged to take part in the protest.

"Wheels, barrels, tents – we start Maidan!" the leader of the protestors said.

According to media reports, the protestors plan to stay in the building of the regional administration to control the receipt of funds to repair the road.

Chaplain Nikolai Medinsky is known for having "restored the truth" in Kolomyia when, during the seizure of the church, allowed himself to physically abuse the parishioners of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. He has also repeatedly insulted the UOC.
