Ukrainian officials do not like the people: they rob and deceive them – RCC Bishop

Bishop Stanislav Shirokoradiuk of Kharkov-Zaporozhe diocese of the RCC said that Catholics are unhappy with the actions of Ukrainian officials, although there are positive moments. He told about this in the broadcast of Radio Maria on the occasion of the Independence Day of Ukraine.

"Now it’s bitterness and disappointment. Well, "it’s regretting!" Our people do not like our officials. We are ripped off, robbed and deceived, "Shirokoradiuk said. “But at the same time – we go ahead. To say that everything is negative is not true. Despite a lot of imitation, some steps towards European integration are made, after all!"

The Catholic hierarch noted the progress in the development of the Catholic Church in Ukraine: "For 26 years we have made a step from the Stone Age to the modern civilization today ... I recall the times that we had then, and what we have today. If someone told me at the time that we would have our social centers, help centers, orphanages like Caritas, I would say, "Well, there are different fantasies, but that's too much!" The churchmen made most of this time for the development! "

According to him, Catholics enjoyed it best of all to "work with Kuchma". "He was neutral. Neither Orthodox nor Catholic. A typical communist, but often remembered God," the Bishop stressed." The clergy did not meet with anyone as often as they did with Kuchma."

The RCC Bishop expressed his joy on the occasion of the Independence Day. "Because this holiday has its own positive sides. We have freedom of religion and freedom of speech!"

Bishop Stanislav Shirikoradiuk is famous for his severe criticism of the bills #4128 and #4511, which, in his opinion, are elaborated to cater for the interests of the Kiev Patriarchate.

Earlier Bishop of the RCC Bronislaw Bernacki declared that today it is not the right power needed for Ukraine.
