Monks of Svyatogorsk Lavra rebury soldiers of the Great Patriotic War

On May 3, in the village of Tatianovka, located near the Svyatogorsk Lavra, the remains of 86 soldiers of the 12 and 8 armies, 3 and 8 Guards armies, who died fighting for the liberation of Slobozhanshchyna from the Nazi invaders, were reburied, reports the website of Lavra.

The rally in honor of the fallen soldiers was attended by the residents of Svyatogorsk and the village of Tatianovka, schoolchildren, representatives of local authorities and the media.

Before the remains of the soldiers fallen in the battlefield, a lithium was served. Cathedral prayer in memory of the deceased soldiers was offered by the inhabitants of the Holy Dormition Svyatogorsk Lavra, headed by Archimandrite Ambrose (Bobrov). Memorial chants were performed by the Svyatogorsk monks under the guidance of the regent hieromonk Raphael (Popov).

At the event, the present sang songs about the war, schoolchildren read poems about the heroism of soldiers during the Great Patriotic War. All the present were greeted by the representatives of the authorities, a lot of words were said about the importance of keeping the memory of the soldiers who died in the battlefields liberating the Slobozhansky region from the fascist invaders.

The head of the search team Alexei Yukov said about the work of the Association of researchers of military and historical heritage (ADVIS) "Platsdarm (Foothold)". According to the main organizer of the search, this is the fourth reburial in a few years. The remains of 117 fighters were reburied for the first time, and in all four reburials the remains of 323 Soviet soldiers have been buried with honor. One of the main goals of the search expedition is to rebury the unknown fallen Soviet soldiers with honor.

At the end of the rally, those present honored the fallen soldiers with a minute of silence, the army rifle party performing a three-volley salute into the air. Then the coffins with the remains of the soldiers were solemnly buried. Everyone tossed three grains of land to the grave at parting. Then the present people laid flowers to the monument erected on the burial site.
