Ivano-Frankivsk Court upholds UOC believers’ right to the church despite the mayor's campaigning

The law took the side of the diocese and the faithful of the Holy Transfiguration Church: on February 6, 2017, the Supreme Economic Court of Ukraine satisfied a cassation appeal of the Ivano-Frankivsk diocese of the UOC, reports the site of the diocese.

The court upheld the decision of the Economic Court of the Ivano-Frankivsk region of 08.02.16 in Case 909/932/15, which the Executive Committee of the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council denied the termination of the lease on the church at 6 Chornovil Str.

Thus, the decision of the Lviv Economic Court of Appeal of 11.02.2016 was overturned.

As reported earlier by the UOJ, the Ivano-Frankivsk eparchy of the UOC has published comments regarding the bias of the mayor of the city Ruslan Martsinkiv, who generates a negative attitude to the faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
