UOC priests greet Donbass residents in war zone on Christmas

January 10, priests of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church went to the war zone in the Donbass to give Nativity greetings to the military and civilians.

The trip was headed by Metropolitan Augustine of Bila Tserkva and Boguslav, reports the Information and Education Department of the UOC. He was accompanied by students of the Kiev theological schools. The event was organized by the UOC Synodal Department for Relations with the Armed Forces and other military formations of Ukraine.

Chaplains are going to visit the Sviatogorsk Lavra, Sviatogorsk, Slaviansk, Kramatorsk, Bakhmut (a nursing home and an orphanage), Novoselovka, Avdeevka, Kurakhovo, Marinka, Krasnogorsk and Dnepr (previously - Dnepropetrovsk). Overnight and meals are planned in the military units. The trip also includes a visit to the headquarters of the military operation in Kramatorsk.
