Unique centuries-old inscription found on the walls of St. Sophia Cathedral
Experts believe that the inscription is about a thousand years. Through the graffiti specialists confirmed that it was Prince Vladimir, not Yaroslav, who began to build St. Sophia’s Cathedral.
"Graffiti, unlike books, were not backdated, they are relevant and they are an expression of the present. Under Yaroslav chronicles were copied, edited, then after Yaroslav there were other copyists, and it is clear that these sources should be approached with caution. It does not mean that we should discard all competent sources," said Deputy General Director for Research of the National Reserve "St. Sophia of Kiev".
