On the Feast of the Entrance into the Temple of Our Most Holy Lady the Theotokos UOC Primate offers prayers in Chernivtsi (PHOTO)

On December 4, the Feast of the Entrance into the Temple of Our Most Holy Lady the Theotokos, the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufriy of Kiev and All Ukraine celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Vvedensky convent of Chernivtsi, reports the Information and Education Department of the UOC.

After the reading of the Holy Gospel, the Primate addressed the faithful present at the festive divine service with a sermon.

After the vacation His Beatitude led the festive prayer service and a cross procession, greeted the faithful on the feast, sprinkled with holy water and blessed everyone.

The day before, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufriy of Kiev and All Ukraine led the All-Night Vigil in the Holy Spirit Cathedral of Chernivtsi.

The Vvedensky Convent in Chernivtsi was opened in 1904 on the site of two hospitals: regional and children’s. Convent nuns served in the hospitals in emergencies, epidemics, floods, etc., looking after the sick.
