Head of Security Service of Ukraine urges UOC to facilitate the release of prisoners

The head of the SSU of Ukraine Vasily Gritsak and representatives of the Ukrainian Council of Churches discussed the possibility of releasing Ukrainian prisoners on November 2 during a visiting session in the city of Kramatorsk. Gritsak highlighted a special mission of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in this matter, reports Ukrinform.

"Speaking honestly, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church has better opportunities in the uncontrolled territories, better opportunities to provide assistance. And if as a result of our today's meeting at least one person is released, regardless of whether it will be done by joint effort or by someone specific, it does not matter, it will be a victory, because someone who defended our country will return to the family," stressed the head of the SSU.

Now, according to the Security Service, 109 Ukrainians are in captivity, 43 of them are civilians. 494 Ukrainian citizens were missing and their fate is unknown.
