56 films will be nominated for "Pokrov-2016" prize
56 films from Ukraine, Georgia, Latvia, Kazakhstan, Poland and Russia will be nominated for the main prize of the film forum in the categories of animation, short, documentary and feature films.
Within the framework of the festival thematic meetings, workshops and round table talks on current topics of Christian cinema will be held for guests and participants of the forum. The winners and nominees will be awarded the traditional prizes of the festival and special award from the founders of Film Festival "Pokrov-2016" – the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and the Holy Trinity Monastery of St. Jonas.
The jury will be headed by director and producer Yegor Benkendorf. Last entries will be held in the House of Cinema on 10 and 11 October.
The Orthodox film festival "Pokrov" was founded with the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Vladimir (Sabodan) of Kiev and All Ukraine in 2003. During this time, tens of thousands of people have seen hundreds of films, and in 2013 online broadcast was organized on the website of the festival, so that about 40 000 Internet users could watch Orthodox films.
