The case of the attacks of Boryspil deputy on Cross Procession participants closed (VIDEO)

September 5, the Boryspil Administrative Court held a hearing on the case of a deputy of the Boryspil City Council on attacks on participants of the All-Ukrainian Cross Procession. A prosecution witness didn’t attend the hearing. The case was closed.

At all the meetings of the Administrative Court Yaroslav Godunok pleaded not guilty. Protection witnesses argued that Godunok didn’t call for violence, but merely expressed his civil position. A prosecution witness didn’t attend the hearing. The case was closed for absence of the offence.

The deputy repeatedly reported in the courtroom that he "would like to sue for libel." Whether this statement was put into action is unknown. "And when the vicar of the Svyatogorsk Lavra, who sent the Cross Procession to Kiev, has an official residence in the so-called "DNR", I was hard to hold back. But none of the citizens and activists who have been with us committed any acts of hooliganism," Yaroslav Godunok said in court.

The UOJ referred to the Holy Dormition Svyatogorsk Lavra for comments on the charges against the vicar of the Lavra. "The Vicar of the Lavra does not own any property in the territory of the self-proclaimed "DNR". He registered here, in the monastery," said the secretary of the Lavra, Archimandrite Lazar.

According to a UOJ source, who requested anonymity, before the trial deputy Yaroslav Godunok spoke with his supporters outdoors and promised "to drive all Moscow priests from Boryspil."
