INTER channel presented a new version of the film “A Thousand Years on Athos”

An extended version of the new documentary “A thousand years on Athos” was presented to the viewers by the “Inter” TV channel. It is reported by the “Russian Athos”.

The duration of the film is 1 hour 15 minutes.

The film is dedicated to the 1000-year old Russian monkhood legacy on the Holy Mount Athos. It was created by the “Inter” channel in collaboration with the International Institute for the Athonite Legacy in Ukraine. The author is Anton Nikitin, film director is Daniil Syryh, scientific advisor – Sergey Shumilo.

According to the film makers, there were lots of positive reviews and responses following the first production, therefore it was decided to extend the film plot, having added there a number of essential points which reveal the sense of Jesus prayer and monk hermitage.

“A thousand years on Athos” is a film about how Holy Athos lives and exists at present, about unknown or oblivious pages of the Russian monkhood history on the Holy Mount, about an idea that there is no time concept for a prayer. This is a documentary narrative that tells about our profound thousand-long connection with one of the most grace-filled places, an earthly abode of the Holy Mother. The film was released upon the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine Onuphry.
