Archpriest Victor Zemlianoy: There is no politics in Cross Procession
There cannot be any politics in the Cross Procession if the Mother of God in Her Pochaev image is going Her way together with believers down our country, said Archpriest Victor Zemlianoy responsible for the settlement of inter-confessional relations in the Rivne diocese of the UOC during the telemarathon devoted to the All-Ukrainian Cross Procession – 2016.
"The Church is doing Her best to show that She is always with Her people. What is the Church? This is people, Her believers. Those statements made by some politicians are a kind of promotion, which we actually did not count on in the Cross Procession because we did not walk for the sake of promotion. We are walking for the sake of peace and prayer in this country," he stressed.
"Our Cross Procession also brings miracles. We have a woman from Rivne – her grandson with cerebral palsy got on his feet and started walking. The woman 9 times passed under the icon of Our Lady of Pochaev. How can there be politics if the Mother of God in Her Pochaev image is going Her way down our country," said the priest.
"It is Church affairs and priests should go to their people more often," concluded Archpriest Victor Zemlianoy.
Recall, the UOC holds weekly telemarathon devoted to the All-Ukrainian Cross Procession – 2016.
