Priest of UOC diocese of Kharkov: Ukrainian Cross procession to pray for peace in human souls
In the Cross procession not only the soul but also the body prays, said Archpriest of the Holy Dormition Cathedral of Kharkov Sergiy Belianov, reports InformBuro.
"The Cross Procession is a pure prayer, because not only the soul but also the body prays. A man is threefold: he/she consists of the soul, body and spirit. And now all nature is involved. Yes, it is hard. Yes, it is hot, takes a long time, but nevertheless, it is a feat," said Fr. Sergiy.
He also said that for the first time in the history the Cross procession has such a scale. "We pray the Lord to send peace into the hearts of people," he added.
We recall the All-Ukrainian Cross procession has passed through Kharkov. More than 3,000 people took part in it. The procession started from the Holy Dormition Svyatogorsk Lavra on Monday, 3 July. Having walked the route Izum-Savintsy-Zmiev-Vodianoe, the procession arrived in Kharkov. Today the length of the route is 30 km. The All-Ukrainian Cross procession ended in the Kiev Pechersk Lavra on July 27.
