Russian Orthodox Church and the Church of Antioch rejected repeated invitation to the Council
The Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church Patriarch Kirill and the Primate of the Antioch Orthodox Church Patriarch John rejected the proposal of the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople with a call to take part in the Cretan Council, reports Romfea.gr.
The Primates of the two churches decided not to change their decision to withdraw from the Council, which is being held in Crete. The Georgian Orthodox Church and the Bulgarian Patriarchate have not responded to the invitation yet.
Recall, on Friday during the "Small Synaxis" Primates of the Orthodox Churches in the Orthodox Academy in Kolymbari decided to send repeated invitation to the local Churches that do not participate in the sessions of the Holy and Great Council of Crete.
