What Shariy does not Say, Exposing a Lie of TSN about the Procession of the UOC
A famous blogger Anatoly Shariy exposed a TSN news item about the procession on 27 July. In fact, he caught journalists of “1 + 1” in a lie. They said that only nuns and Metropolitan Onufry stopped laying flowers at the monument to those killed on Maidan. Shariy said the main thing, but did not pay attention to some small details.
Firstly, the video clearly shows that a prayer conducted by Metropolitan Onufry is filmed by a camera man of “1 +1”. A red Microphone with the logo of TSN is perfectly recognizable. This means that the editors of the news item told a deliberate lie. And this lie is a violation of the law on freedom of conscience.
Secondly, the news piece of TSN is full of clichés and manipulation. For example, in shot there is a little girl who says she feels a bit bored. Or it shows not quite an adequate parishioner of the Kiev Patriarchate, who states that she heard someone singing a song about Russia, someone's homeland. The reporter, commenting the greeting of Metropolitan Anthony with the oligarch Vadim Novinsky, says that they try beards against each other.
In fact, the TSN news item can be qualified as incitement to religious hatred and violation of the law "On Freedom of Conscience and Religious Organisations." It is a pity that today the probability of winning a lawsuit against one of the Ukrainian channels is close to zero. But no one can avoid the higher justice. One has to wait a while. God’s mill grinds slow, but sure.
