Online Petition to Stop Provocations against the UOC Published on the Site of the President of Ukraine

E-petition "On measures to prevent religious conflicts in Ukraine" was published on the website of President of Ukraine on 30.09.2015.The petition was registered under №22 / EP-011839.

Ukrainian citizens of different religious communities in their appeal to the President as the guarantor of human rights and freedom of religion ask to take measures to stop provocations against the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

"We, the citizens of Ukraine, of various religious communities want to live in a peaceful country where the rule of law prevails, and the government and people mutually respect one another and care of the comprehensive development of every citizen" - in particular, stated in the document. The head of state is required to immediately recall to state and local authorities that the Church is separated from the state and introduce criminal liability for officials acting outside their legal authority and the media that circulate false information; asked to deny registration of candidates for calls for discrimination against citizens of Ukraine for their religious beliefs.
